The Aussie bbq chicken is one of my favourite dishes! Because it provides a healthy alternative to using oil to get a crispy skin. Recipes don’t come much easier than this. It may sound a little disgusting at first, but trust me it’s delicious!!


  • whole chook
  • vegemite
  • some veggies or salad


  1. Take 1 x whole chook
  2. Lather the skin with Vegemite (accept no substitutes e.g. Marmite)
  3. Cook at 200 degrees for 1.5 hours or butterfly the chook and stick straight on BBQ until cooked through
  4. Add veggies or salad

Belinda’s Tip: use leftovers for sandwiches next day
