Kathy Lost 20kg On The Lady Shake

Share

We have an update on Kathy's incredible journey, but be sure to check out her first story here!

My name is Kathy and I started using The Lady Shake in October 2022. My reasons for starting were both medical and personal. I was heading towards type 2 diabetes, and recent blood tests showed that I had high cholesterol and a fatty liver. I really didn't like the way I looked, I felt sluggish, and had no energy to play with my grandkids.

Recent blood tests have shown I am no longer heading towards diabetes, my cholesterol is in the healthy range, and my fatty liver has totally reversed. I now like the way that I look, I can actually see my toes! I just want to tone up, especially in the stomach and arms.

I had a number of plateaus (lasting months) but continued to persevere with the shakes and healthy eating, and finally the scales started to move again. I had no energy at the start and no inclination to exercise, but 9 months ago I wanted to start.

I get on the exercise bike daily, and in the last few months I've added some toning exercises to my regime - I actually enjoy exercising now. I also have the energy at work to get through the day, I'm always very busy as I work at a specialist school.

My Routine:

  • 6:30am - I drink the Pine Passionfruit BOOST.
  • 7:00am - I have a shake for breakfast, whatever flavour I feel like with a handful of strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and frozen mango - this is also my morning snack.
  • 12:45-1:30pm - I have whatever shake I feel like for lunch.
  • 3:30pm - I have a snack if I'm hungry. Either a Lady Bar, a protein bar or a Noshu bar
  • 5:30pm I have my dinner, whatever I decide to cook.
  • 6:30pm - I sometimes have The Lady Shake Mousse.
  • 7:30 - I have a hot Chocolate Super Greens with milk.

At the moment I'm continuing with two shakes a day as it's convenient, and if I have something else, I find that I'm not hungry or feel like dinner (this way I'm getting all the nutrients I need).

My go-to bundle is the Buy 3 Get One Free. My favourite shakes are (omg so many), all the Chocolate ones, Passionfruit and Mango, and Banana (with one scoop Chocolate, one scoop Banana). I also mix and match the flavours.

I am so ecstatic that I’ve achieved my ultimate goal and I’m determined to keep it. It has been pre-kids (33 years) since I was this weight and I really can’t believe I’ve managed it. I started at 80kg and had a goal of becoming 60kg. Right now I’m 59.5kg – 20.5kg and 71.6cm gone.

My family have been very supportive and both family and friends constantly comment on how great I look. I think my only advice is to ‘just do it, you won’t regret it’. Persevere, especially through the plateaus. It’s a hard journey (not easy like putting the weight on), but so worth the investment in not only physical health, but mental health too.

There's been quite a number of memorable experiences but a couple that standout are the first time people noticed the weight loss, and also fitting into size 10 clothes (I was in high school the last time I wore that size). I think I’m nearing a size 8 now.

I have recently gotten The Lady Shake recipe book and have tried a couple of recipes, and I’ve liked them all so far. I’ve made the Pumpkin, Feta & Spinach Rolls, Singapore Noodles, Chow Mein, and the Sweet & Sour Chicken. I’ve also made and love the Choc Bounty Smoothie, Snickers Smoothie, Cherry Ripe Smoothie, and Mango Weis Smoothie.

I hope this gives inspiration to others, I feel very honoured to do so.
