Karina lost 5kgs with the 4-week Lady Shake Challenge!

When I stepped onto the scales in mid-January and saw that I was weighing in at 97kgs, only 3kgs off 100, I knew I had to do something. I wasn’t fitting into any of the clothes in my wardrobe, and I didn’t like what I was seeing in the mirror.
I’d recently started a new admin role about 6 months prior, and I could see and feel the weight gradually piling on. When I realised I had put on 12kgs over 4 short months whilst I’d been at my new job, it encouraged me to change my eating and exercise habits once and for all.
I saw that The Lady Shake had a challenge coming up, and I took it as a sign to get started!
I’ve never finished a weight loss challenge before, I have usually always given up by the third week. However, I found The Lady Shakes to be different. They’re genuinely delicious and I love mixing up the flavours to create different combinations. My favourite combinations are banana and honeycomb, banana and chocolate, and banana and strawberry (can you tell banana is my favourite?). I’m really excited to try the new Peanut Butter Choc Crunch flavour too.
My partner has done a lot of research into the benefits of intermittent fasting, and I decided to implement this into the challenge and my weight loss journey. I do the 16:8 intermittent fasting, which is an 8-hour eating period, and 16-hour fasting window.
I start my day with exercise first thing in the morning before waking the kids up for school, and getting myself ready for work. It's so easy to organise my shakes in the morning amongst getting the kids ready for school. It really helps get my day kick-started and moving!
I have my first shake around 10am at work, and my other shake and snack around 2pm. After work I do the school run, and then have dinner with my family at about 6pm. While I don’t strictly follow The Lady Shake dinners, I make sure I do something similar but to the point that I know my fussy kids will eat it! It’s been really great, introducing more vegetables into my partner and I’s diets as well as our kids has been awesome.
Over the 4-week Lady Shake Challenge I’ve lost 5kg! In total 8kgs since starting The Lady Shakes, and 6cms off my waist! I’m feeling fantastic, I’ve never had so much motivation before now. I’ve found that I’m enjoying exercising again, the challenge workouts are the perfect length and don’t take up a lot of time to get that quick and effective workout in. Seeing the difference in my before and after photos is a massive motivator to encourage me to keep going.
I’m looking forward to seeing where my Lady Shake journey will take me, and what this new way of life has to offer me! I highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking of starting the shakes, they’re so easy to follow and all the flavours (in my opinion!) taste great.
Also, they have support groups through social media which are just amazing too, they always have words of encouragement to get you through. I’d really recommend joining one of those to help start your journey. Don’t be afraid to have a bad day, everyone has them. You just have to keep going and start again tomorrow.
