Looking for a twist on your lunchtime salad that’s still super easy to make but full of flavour? Then try our simple Chinese Chicken Salad.

  • 1/2 Wombok “Chinese cabbage”
  • 2 large carrots
  • 1 red capsicum
  • 2 shallots
  • 50g sesame seeds
  • 500g poached chicken breast
  • 50ml white vinegar
  • 50ml soy sauce
  • 20ml sesame oil


  1. Shred cabbage
  2. Slice the carrots and capsicum into fine strips
  3. Cut the spring onions finely
  4. Poach chicken breast in 2cm of water in a covered pot
  5. Slice cooled chicken breast into pieces
  6. Toss the chicken with all the salad ingredients
  7. Combine all the dressing ingredients and stir
  8. Add the dressing to the salad and mix through
