Keeping You Fuelled Without the Hidden Sugar

If you were going to do just one thing to lose weight, nine times out of 10 it should be getting rid of sugary drinks. Research shows that calories from sugar in liquid form don’t register in our brains the way calories from food do. Therefore, that means we keep guzzling, sending our insulin levels through the roof and adding extra inches around our waists.

So do yourself a massive favour and cut out the soft drinks, flavoured milk, juices! Actually, all those beverages that are really wolves dressed in lambs’ clothing. Coconut water and sports drinks, I’m talking about you.

As women, we should only be consuming 100 calories per day of sugar (25 grams or 6 teaspoons). Half of these drinks below are well over the recommended daily consumption.  While children should only be consuming 15 grams of sugar per day.  A 200ml Just Juice is their over their recommended intake for the day! Scary I know!
