It’s that time of the day when it calls for a snack, what do you grab? Not some crisps that for sure! A healthy snack chose would be our Rice cakes with avocado & cottage cheese! When a crunchy snack is in order, this ticks all your boxes – good fats, lean protein and zingy tomato.

Plus it also doubles as great healthy appetizer if you’ve got people around – just up the quantities to share.


  1. 1/4 cup reduced-fat plain cottage cheese
  2. 2 whole rice cakes
  3. 1/2 tomato, sliced
  4. 1/4 avocado, sliced


  1. Spread the cottage cheese over the rice cakes, then add the tomato,
  2. Pop the avocado on top and crack over some black pepper to taste.


Try some baby spinach instead of avaocad0! or Another favourite of mine is tuna and onion – mix one 95 g can with 2 slices of red onion, finely diced, and spread on rice cakes or rye biscuits. Yum!
