I’m 60 and I live in Bomaderry, NSW.
I have lost 18 kilos since I started The Lady Shake on the 1st January 2021.
I’ve always loved food and for many years made bad choices in what I ate. I always ate way too much, never taking time to make good choices or portion control. I have lost a lot of weight many times and always put it back on.
I haven’t really had any major health issues myself but my family has a history of heart disease, my Mum had kidney disease as well which has always played on my mind. The older I get the more aches and pains I get from carrying excess weight. I went to the doctor about my knee being so sore, being a new doctor he gave me a full check-up, told me my BP was high and to lose weight to avoid going on medication. I also saw a knee surgeon who virtually said the same, lose weight, your knee has some issues but has a couple of years left before needing surgery.
That is what inspired me to lose weight, I wasn’t going on BP meds if I could help it and certainly not ready for knee surgery.
I have been to weight watchers, been on lots of diets and also tried other shakes. I then saw the Lady Shake on TV in the shops and on social media. It looked so easy so thought I’d give it a go.
So it all began on New Years Day this year (now the start of October)!
As the weeks went by and the weight came off I started to feel so much better, I had more energy, my walks got longer and easier every week.
I feel so much healthier now, my knee is so much better with the weight gone. I walk just about every day I can.
The hardest part is starting the journey and getting yourself motivated to keep going each day, trying to stay positive and believe in yourself. I still enjoy some treats along the way.
If you are thinking of starting on The Lady Shake I say just give it a go, it’s a great way to lose weight and lead a healthier lifestyle.
You can still have your treats, enjoy a drink if you wish and it’s so easy to prepare and has lots of variety.
