How To Maintain Your Progress During School Holidays

Health hacks

Staying on track with weight loss during school holidays can be touch. Busy mums are tending to their little one’s needs more often and more closely. When the kids are at home more, it’s common for mums to put their own health on the back burner to ensure their children are properly taken care of.

Well, we have a few tips to help out!

Plan Ahead

You know it’s coming! So, take the time while the kids are still at school to plan your own meals for the next couple of weeks – you don’t have to meal prep as you’ll likely be busy enough cooking and prepping food for the kids, but create a meal plan for yourself, this way you’ll be more likely to eat healthily and avoid impulse eating.

Stock Up On Healthy Snacks

Healthy snacks are ideal for both busy mums and kids! Be sure to keep the kitchen stocked with fruit, veggies, nuts and whole grain crackers. You’re going to need nutritious food to fuel your body during these extra busy times. It’s a great way to make sure you’re staying on track and maintaining a healthy balanced diet for the kids.

Involve The Kids

Get your kids to help you plan! It’s a good way to teach them about nutrition and the importance of a healthy, balanced diet. You already know what they like to eat, but you can add or remove certain ingredients to focus on nutrition while still making a tasty meal.

Stay Active

School holidays can be stressful, so make sure to keep on top of the essentials as well — staying hydrated and getting enough sleep.

Check with your local Council to see what outdoor activities they have planned for the school holidays. You may be able to drop the kids at a craft workshop and take the hour to enjoy a walk on your own. Fresh air, exercise and a little bit of peace and quiet — winning!
