If you have an office job then you’re probably spending most of your day without using your legs, but this doesn’t have to be the case! There is plenty of handy gear out there that you can keep in the office to get yourself moving. It's called deskercise!

Under Desk Elliptical

These handy little devices are ideal for those working an office job. You can sit comfortably in your chair while your legs pedal away, and it really doesn’t require much effort. Sitting down all day isn’t great for blood circulation and this will help to increase blood flow and enhance the number of calories you’d otherwise be burning stationary. You can find one for $64.95 in Big W.

Under Desk Bike

Just like the mini elliptical, a mini bike keeps your legs moving and blood flowing. You can simply place it under your desk at work and pedal away. They’re typically inexpensive and a great way to burn extra calories while sitting down. You can purchase a mini bike from Kmart for just $35.

Exercise Ball

Roll out the chair and roll in a ball! Sitting on an exercise ball rather than a desk chair can enhance your core strength and stability as they pretty much force you to sit up straight! They can help with balance and co-ordination too as your body adapts to sitting on an unstable surface. You can find affordable options in Kmart starting at just $10.

Wobble Cushion

A wobble cushion, also known as a balance disc, is a rubber cushion designed to be placed on a chair to provide an unstable surface for sitting. Like an exercise ball, they encourage you to engage your core muscles, helping to strengthen your lower back and pelvis which can help to improve balance. It forces you to shift your weight which in turn helps to prevent stiffness and improve blood flow. You can find one for $10 at Kmart.
