How Ella lost 13kg by staying consistent and getting back on track when life got busy

Ella was tired of jumping from one diet to another, only to see the weight return once she stopped. After years of trying unsustainable approaches, she knew she wanted something that felt realistic and easier to stick to long term.

In October 2024, she decided to give The Lady Shake a go after hearing about it from her hairdresser, whose sister had achieved great results using the program. Hoping to finally find something that worked with her lifestyle, Ella committed to making a change.

At first, adjusting to shakes instead of regular meals was challenging. Like many women starting something new, it took time to settle into the routine. But as the weeks passed, the shakes became part of her everyday life and the consistency started paying off.

Ella began with one shake for breakfast, followed by a protein bar a few hours later, another shake later in the day, healthy snacks in between, and a balanced dinner at night. After a few months, she adjusted her routine to one shake and one protein bar a day alongside her regular meals.

Alongside using The Lady Shake, Ella was also exercising at the gym three to four times a week. Combining movement with a routine she could maintain helped her lose weight at a steady and sustainable pace.

Over close to a year, Ella lost 13kg and reached a milestone that felt incredibly rewarding. Hitting the 10kg mark was a moment she describes as “pretty epic,” especially as people around her started noticing her progress and complimenting her efforts.

Like many journeys, hers was not perfect. Ella admits she “fell off the wagon” multiple times and took a short break from using The Lady Shake. But instead of giving up completely, she reset and got back into her routine, something she now sees as one of the biggest mindset shifts of her journey.

“Stay consistent as I knew this was working,” she shared.

Now back into her routine, Ella is focused on continuing her progress and hopes to lose another 10 to 15kg while building muscle and staying active through regular gym sessions.

Beyond the number on the scale, Ella says one of the biggest changes has been how much easier it is to move her body and keep up with her children running around. She is also more focused on eating healthier foods because of how much better it makes her feel inside and out.

Her favourite flavours are chocolate and vanilla, and she loves the Rocky Road protein bars. One of her favourite hacks is adding ice to her shakes to make them extra refreshing, along with mixing in greens powder for an added energy boost.

Although Ella did not rely on a support network during her journey, she stayed accountable to herself and remained committed to her goals, even after setbacks.

If she could go back and speak to herself on day one, her message would be simple:

“Keep going! You can do this. If you fall off the wagon, just jump back on and reset.”

For anyone feeling nervous about starting their own journey, Ella’s advice is equally encouraging: “Just give it a go! You won't regret it.”
