How Giselle Lost 33kg and Found Herself Again

For Giselle Resch, the biggest transformation wasn’t just on the scales, it was reclaiming her energy, confidence, and zest for life. After struggling with mental health, she took control of her wellbeing with one step and one shake at a time. Here's how she did it.

By mid-2023, Giselle found herself in a deep emotional rut. “I was battling both depression and anxiety… I lost complete interest in the things I once loved doing.” The spark she once had had dimmed, and her motivation to get moving or make healthy choices had vanished. At her heaviest, Giselle was 87.4kg, weighed down not just by the number on the scales, but by the weight of mental burnout.

Determined to feel better, Giselle started slow. Gentle movement became her medicine, daily rowing and short treadmill sessions built both her stamina and self-belief.

As Giselle’s energy lifted, she added The Lady Shake to her routine.

“It helps me stay on track with my progress and goals.” Her go-to? Two shakes a day, breakfast and lunch paired with snacks like mixed nuts, fruit, or yogurt. Dinner was a balanced meal of protein and veg, with a weekly takeaway treat to keep things real. Her favourite flavour, Cookie Dough took top spot (no arguments there), followed closely by Mixed Berry, Banana, and Vanilla. She even created her own hacks: “With Vanilla I like to add a dash of lemon essence to make a lemon cheesecake flavour or a tablespoon of peanut butter.”

Getting Stronger, Inside and Out

The weight came off gradually, but the real win? Her strength and confidence skyrocketed. By her birthday in May, Giselle was gifted a dual air-magnetic rowing machine, and she’s been powering through with pride ever since.

“I started at a tension level of 25 and now I’m up to 30. I’m blown away by my progress.”

She also dived into The Lady Shake recipe book, whipping up protein-packed brownies, doughnuts, mousse, cheesecake, and lean sausage rolls.

And with every kilo shed, the fog lifted. Giselle rediscovered her laugh, her energy, and a love for moving her body.

Support, Strength, and a Second Chance

Giselle doesn’t credit her transformation to shakes alone, she had a whole cheer squad behind her. “My friends and family have been my biggest support. I value each and every one of them.” With their encouragement and her own determination, she’s now sitting at 54kg, a total loss of 33.4kg. “I feel like my old self again… full of life, laughing, motivated, and stronger in both body and mind.”

Her Advice for Anyone Starting Out?

“Take each and every day as it comes. If you have a setback, it’s OK. Tomorrow is a new day.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
