Eight months ago, I was staring at myself in the mirror after a long busy work day and I wasn’t happy.   

 

Even though I had given up smoking 18 months prior and detoxed my body from the high caffeinated, sugary drinks that fueled my every waking moment (just to increase my water intake), I was still in pain. My knees were retaining fluid, swollen and aching all the time, my lower lumber sciatica region was playing up and I was a functioning depressant. I was at my lowest, I didn’t like myself, severely depressed. It was that night back in April 2025 that I made a decision to change it. 

 I had previously tried The Lady Shake before but this time the journey would be different. I needed to do this for Me. Hell, I was only 37 years old and I needed something to change and it had to be for me.  

 With support from my family, my Local GP and later my boxing Coach, I have been able to drop 25kg in the 8 months all thanks to the easy and straight forward shake and meal plan guide provided by The Lady Shake. 

The meal plan was so easy. The shakes fit perfectly into my daily routine and lifestyle. It was a great substitute for breakfast and lunch (that I normally wouldn’t consume), and then a healthy home-cooked dinner. 

 The Lady Shake has a great range of flavours that just made it easier to have every day. The bars were a great go-to snack for my busy schedule at the hospital as well, keeping me full between meals with no guilt attached and the soups are so satisfying for dinner after a late shift. I have noticed that with the summer months, I am favouring the Collagen Shakes. They are lighter and so refreshing during the hot afternoon lunch breaks. I can also admit that I am happily addicted to all their mint range from the great choc mint bars to the shakes, they are generally my default choice.  

Though I personally am not finished on my weight loss journey, I love how far I’ve come. I’m mentally happier within myself, I am now finishing my nursing shifts with  

energy left over to enjoy my free time with the family. Through this experience I’m learning new things about myself. I know that being on The Lady Shakes had been a huge contribution to that achievement. 

Best of all, these products feel more like a delicious treat to me that comes guilt-free. It takes all the hard work out of this diet, as all products are nutritionally balanced, ensuring that my body is getting the right balance for all that is required to help me achieve a healthier me.

 

The best feeling upon this journey was when I had to clear out my closet of all the clothes that didn’t fit me anymore. My biggest secret is that I kept some items like a jumper, shirt and pair of pants. I reserved these items for the days where the scale does not reflect the energy or work, I’ve put in during weigh-in day. I deliberately put these clothes back on to mentally boost my mood to ensure that the scale does not always reflect the shift in our bodies during the journey.  

Also, I’ve discovered that cheat’ or rest days are just as important during this journey. One should not shun special meals or outings just because it goes against some preconceived “diet plan” frame of mind. The Lady Shake gave me that freedom. With the key being consistency, portion control and moderation.  

I found exercise is a great way to make the journey fun and avoid the routine of an activity getting boring and feeling more like “a chore”. Personally, I use 3 different types of home exercise apps, a treadmill, and the boxing gym. For me, the variation helps keeping me engaged with the key to enjoying the activity and to just keep moving. I tend to also get my kids involved in turning a simple routine into a fun family activity.  

Overall being a part of The Lady Shake Community has been the best decision for my weight loss journey. The ladies in the community are so warm and supportive that together we can achieve anything.
